Yarns > Jo Sharp Yarns from AustraliaJo Sharp works from her design studio in the historic port city of Fremantle, Western Australia. Her career in textiles began in 1986 designing colourful intarsia knitwear for the Australian tourist market. Her first collection of yarn for hand knitting was introduced in 1993 with with a small range of DK wool and knitting patterns. This collection was quickly snapped up by a prestigious chain of Australian department stores and was thereafter rapidly introduced through knitting boutiques across the country. These days Jo is known for her uniquely rich colour palette and a collection of luxury fibre hand knitting yarns including her "Rare Comfort" kid mohair yarns. While colour has always been the primary influence in Jo's work, the creation of wearable designs that are within reach of the ability of most hand knitters has also influenced her design direction. Jo's work has been featured in dozens of publications throughout the world and her yarns are extensively featured in her own knitting publications. Jo Sharp YarnClick Images for Details
